Four virtual volunteering opportunities

April 1, 2020

This coronavirus thing is taking a toll on all of us... I hope you are all hanging in there!

If you are worrying about how to fulfill your CSF hours (remember, 10 is the minimum!)... well, don't fret! Here is a list of opportunities and ideas! All of these can be done from home or from a distance :)

Hope this helps!

1.) Be a proofreader for Project Gutenberg!

If you enjoy reading, this will be a great way to fulfill your hours. You can proofread as many pages as you'd like, and connect with other proofreaders through online forums.

2.) Make someone's day with a simple letter!

Sign up to be a Chemo Angel, where you can write a letter to a cancer patient and spread happiness.

3.) Volunteer your voice as an audio-book reader for documents that go into the public domain.

There is no audition or application process, all you need is to have a voice, a computer, and other small, inexpensive items. Check out their website linked above for more.

4.) Offer tutoring services for elementary/middle schoolers through Zoom or other online media.

You can post on Nextdoor or social media and volunteer your time spreading intelligence. :)
